Jesus would have chosen Utah State....

He had a beard.
That was one of my favorite signs at the USU vs. BYU basketball game!
I don't seem to ever take my camera with me, so again here are some phone pictures :)

The Aggies running out on to the floor
Final score USU 71- BYU 62

BYU finally came to play in the spectrum. No one wanted to miss it! People were camping out the night before to be sure to get in. We got there about 5:30 the night of and the line was 4-5 people wide and went clear across the hyper field, and farther I'm sure. When they opened the doors at 6:00 people began shoving to get in. We were pushed through the doors and everyone was racing around to get seats. We ended up with pretty decent seats, row 16 behind the band. About 30-40 minutes before game time, they locked the doors, not letting anymore students in, it was already so so packed! It was a really fun game, especially since Utah State WON!!! I'm pretty sure Max Hall would tell us we don't have any class. But he probably already hates us, so who cares?!! :D

The Party

So I'm a little slow, but better late than never!

One year well check stats:
Height: 28 inches 60%
Weight: 21 lbs. 6.5 oz. 20%

So she hasn't gotten any taller since her 9 months appointment, and she has not quite gained 2 pounds! She has a rash on her tummy and arm that I thought was probably eczema, but turns out it is a viral rash so we put cream on her and give her claritin, not sure what that is supposed to do, but I guess it should help :) she is also a bit anemic, since she still nurses (?) so she gets to have iron daily too, she doesn't enjoy that too much! She has her first tooth on the bottom with 3 others not far behind, and she is getting so close to walking, she is pretty good at it, but I think she thinks she is faster at crawling so she'll stick with that (and she doesn't fall as much) :)

The cake. I had so much fun making this cake,
and I think it turned out really cute!
A yummy layer of raspberry in the middle!
Jenna and Britt
Kaleb was a great helper at opening presents,
Jenna didn't quite get it yet.
She was thrilled when Papa put togehter
the toy they got her, she loves it!
Enough of the head decorations!
Being sung to.
Jenna started just picking the frosting off and throwing it
on the floor, papa was trying to get her to taste it, while
Kaleb helped blow out the candle!
Hmmm...
Let me get this out of my way
OK, I am done, get me outta here!
Kaleb liked it at least!

Retinoblastoma

How cute is this little girl?!
Notice how the camera flash made her eyes white instead of red? It is because she has Retinoblastoma. " Retinoblastoma is a malignant tumor (cancer) of the retina (part of the eye) that generally affects children under the age of 6. It is most commonly diagnosed in children aged 1 - 2 years." (Google Health)

Kelsey was diagnosed at 8 months old. Usually, if there is only a tumor behind one eye, they would remove the eye and tumor. Poor Kelsey has tumors behind both eyes and floating ones in her brain. They have to do Chemo every 4-6 weeks, for a minimum of 6 years. Today they went in for her 2nd round of Chemo and was going to go under anesthesia while an Ophthalmologist and Retina specialist looked at her and did laser treatments. Today they found out that her tumors are shrinking!! But they aren't shrinking fast enough, so they couldn't do the cryotherapy like planned, and what has shrinking has occurred has detached both her retinas. She probably only sees light and dark shapes and no details. They are not too optimistic for much recovery. They can't do a detached retina surgery because that involves sucking out the fluid in her eyes and possibly spreading the cancer. Because of this, they were set up to see the worlds foremost retinoblastoma doctors. Their appointment in on Monday, in Philadelphia! I work with Kelsey's mom, and she has been so so positive and upbeat through this whole thing! She is amazing! Please include this family in your prayers, they can use all they can get! I know they are setting up a fundraiser for them, but don't know the details yet. If you are able and would like to help out at all, get in touch with me and I will get you more information!
I am so so grateful that I have healthy kids, I am healthy, and my husband is healthy. I probably take it for granted too often, it's not something I think about until I know of a situation like this and it opens my eyes a bit. I hope that I can be more grateful for all of my blessings each and every day!

Jazz Game

Jeff and I, well mostly just me because I am so incredibly lucky, won tickets to the Jazz VS. Spurs game! I am brilliant and didn't take my camera, so you get the great quality pictures from my phone.

awww, cuter!

Some of the action
In between quarters I was able to catch some fabulous pictures of my love...
I don't even know....
It always makes it a bit funner when they win!!!

I was working on Friday and Jeff sent me some pictures of their day, this one was my favorite. Too bad my phone had died and I didn't get it until I got home!
Aren't they cute?!

Happy Halloween!

This year they weren't going to do the trunk-or-treat, and neither Jeff or I was too disappointed. We aren't big fans of it. I guess a few people that love it decided to go ahead and do it anyway though, and then if you wanted people to come trick-or-treating at your house, you were to leave your porch light on. I was going with the latter option, but then got a phone call from my SIL asking to take her daughter because her and her husband wouldn't be home in time...so we went. It wasn't too bad, there weren't many people there, and the kids did enjoy it. Then we just stopped by a few houses around town and called it good.
The kids were more interested in the candy than getting pictures, but we did the best we could!

My little lion and bumble bee!

On Tuesday the YM/YW did a little carnival thing and we decided to make an appearance. Kaleb was still too young for the majority of the games, but had fun anyway.

He is pretty good at roaring, unless we try to get him to show someone else :)
Jenna just wanted to roam around everywhere
We aren't sure if Jenna and Garrett actually shared or anything, but they sure are cute!
Hope you had a Happy Halloween!!

Kalebisms

Can I tell you how in love with this kid I am!? He cracks me up all the time...I mean, it's not everyday I see someone climb into the ball cage thingy at Kmart! I just thought I'd share some more funny things from him...

*This morning conversation:

K: "I watch cyber-chase mommy?"
M: "Cyber-chase isn't on until later honey."
K: "But I ove (love) cyber-chase"

*When we are laying down snuggling and he yawns:

K: "I big yawn, huh?"

*Whenever he sneezes:

K: "I sneeze, huh?" (accompanied with a little giggle :D)

OR

K: "What's that?"
M: "I don't know, what is that"
K: "Me sneeze!"

AND

K: "sneezes"
M: "Bless you!"
K: "Bless you too!"

*Sunday morning Kaleb, Jenna and I were in my bed, they like to wake up and look out the window above the bed, and it was raining so they were really enjoying it. We stayed there for a bit and then I was ready to get up (it was like 10 AM :D)

M: "Lets go, mom needs to go potty."
K: "Mommy go pee?"
M: "Yep, mom needs to pee."
K: "Me pee too?"
M: "You want to go pee too?"
K: "Uh-huh. Me pee outside."
M: "No, lets go pee in the potty."
K: "Me pee outside"

He proceeds to run into the front room, open the door, stand on the porch and start to pull his pants down...don't worry, Jeff stopped him and brought him to the bathroom so he could pee!

*He is a very active little boy(who woulda thought :) ) and when he gets hurt lately....

M: "Are you ok?"
K: "Yeah, I guess so"

* He doesn't do it as much anymore, but everyday when Jeff would come home at lunch or night Kaleb would tilt his head to the side and say:
"Milk cows dad, huh?"
"Move pipe dad, huh?"
And now he tells me "milk big cows!" and "feed baby cows milk"

*He is sometimes kinda hard to understand, so we often ask him what he is saying. Now he will say to us: "What you saying?" but he tilts his head to the side, and says it in the cutest voice!

*A couple weeks ago in Sacrament meeting I noticed Kaleb whispering something, I didn't pay much attention at first...but then it dawned on my just what he was actually saying.
He was kneeling on the bench looking at the older gentlemen behind us whispering:

K: "Wake up! Wake up!"

*Pretty much any type of meat we eat, is "chicken".

*He is a very polite little boy, we have a lot of conversations similar to this:

D: "Kaleb, you need to sit back down on the bench."
K: "No thanks."

M: "Come on, lets get your diaper changed."
K: "No thanks."

D: "Time for bed."
K: "No thanks"

You get the idea :)

*He might torture Jenna at times, but he really is a sweet brother and loves her very much.
In the car the other day Jenna was not very happy, I could hear Kaleb back there talking and it turns out it was trying to console her a bit:

K: "It ok Jenna. Mom hurryin. Go ma's(Grandma's) house. No cry."

His most favorite blanket is his froggy blanket. But he has been known lately to share with Jenna, He'll go cover her up "Here go Jenna."

*Eating dinner he wanted to cut his own meat (Swiss steak or something I believe). He tried for a minute with little success...

K: "Me can't do it. Need help."
M: "Do you want me to help you cut it?"
K: "Yeah. I guess so. I give up."

What? Where on earth did he learn to give up?!

*Sometimes he and Jenna play peek-a-boo with the door from the front room to the kitchen. Jenna crawls over to the door and opens/closes it, and Kaleb will jump out and say: "Hey watermelon!" No idea where that came from!

*Window=flamingo

*dindow=window

*He was shopping with my mom, sister and one of my sisters friends, and I guess he kept saying "where my friend go?" whenever the friend wasn't with them.

*He got a scrape on his chin today that beld pretty good so we put a bandaid on it, he kept telling Jenna "I have way bad owie Jenna, way bad."

*When his cousins were down he learned to move the chairs and what not around to make little 'prisons'. When I got there and he was telling me I kept thinking he was saying presents. So now I guess I have him confused because he will make them at home and says "come get in my party guys, my present" :)

*He is starting to use the word SO a lot.
"I so thirsty"
"I so tired"
"I so hungry" etc

* He hasn't quite figured out how to properly use the word something yet and it is pretty funny. He just randomly adds it on to the end of sentences...
"I go ma's house, sompting" He shrugs shoulders afterwards which makes it funnier.

I could go on and on, and perhaps I'll add more on as I think of them so that I'll remember them. I just wanted to share some of the funny things he does everyday!

11 months!

Jenna is 11 months! Here are some pictures
from our little "photo shoot"

21 September 2009

Oh how I'd love to join them...

But it is 5:30, and I need to get more stuff done, and I need to wake Kaleb up so he'll go to bed tonight....another day, perhaps!

10 Months!

Yep, Jenna is seriously 10 months old now!
She is quite squirrmy so this is what we
got for pictures :)
I said something about doing Jenna's pictures, and
Kaleb ran and got me a blanket and her giraffe.
And he wanted in on the shoot too!

Jenna does the cutest little scoot/crawl. She goes up on her foot and then drags her other leg. It is so so funny when she gets going fast while doing it. She is starting to get a more normal crawl down now, but she still does it enough that I was able to get it on video a bit :D
